JOHN CHAPIN (Weller Martin) is a retired banker, professional cook, itinerant business manager and weekly newspaper general factotum. He resides in Blue Hill with his spouse, Fonsia Dorsey (Dindy Royster) and is Treasurer of the New Surry Theatre. A battle-scarred veteran of Bill Raiten's acting classes, his previous roles include the actor, Monceau, in a Stonington Opera House reading of Arthur Miller s Incident at Vichy, and the Rabbi in last summer's spectacularly successful New Surry Theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Grand. For his role as Weller Martin, he has drawn on his life experience as an insufferable curmudgeon, and has further informed it with a pathological aversion to losing at anything, especially card games. His newly found mantra to guide him through this theatrical endeavor derives from Bill's teachings - in a word, Veritas.
