New Surry Theatre Presents

Singing For The Stage

with Daniel Conte

Learn to use that most powerful, yet delicate musical instrument—your voice! Participants will be given the tools to build a resonant, expressive and reliable vocal instrument.  Using the repertoire of musical theater we will explore ways in which the voice can convey story, character and emotion in song. We will learn to sing as an ensemble and each participant will be given guidance and assistance in preparing a solo piece for performance.

Singing For The Stage meets Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30.

Daniel Conte is a singer, composer, conductor, and pianist.  He is a graduate of the Mannes College of Music, New York, (now part of the New School University), the musical director at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, as well as the Brooklin Community Band and the Homeschool Chorus of Ellsworth.  He has worked on instrumental and vocal music for films, onstage, and in concert since the 1970's.  He lives in Orland with his wife and youngest son, and is the proud father of five children.
