Your support makes our cultural commitment to the community possible. Your donation is transformed into our mission of engagement,
inspiration and entertainment through the performing arts
and keeps theater alive in our community.

When you attend a New Surry Theatre production on our virtual or in-person stage, it is our hope that you are inspired, moved and entertained. Whether we leave you laughing, crying or deep in thought, our goal is to draw you into a powerful theatrical experience.

Our productions depend on the community for wonderful actors, directors, tech specialists, behind the scenes volunteers, and of course audience members and supporters. To bring excellent theater to the stage, we depend on the generosity of people like you who appreciate and participate with NST.

Producing a play is an expensive endeavor, and we cannot rely on ticket sales alone to make ends meet. In fact, tickets sales account for just one third of our annual revenue. Plain and simple, your donation really makes a difference.

Do you plan to take in a NST show or shows this theatrical season? Perhaps you’ll take an acting class in our Performing Arts School, or even audition for a role? There will be many opportunities because we are producing more shows and other theatrical opportunities (like staged readings) than ever before. Your generous support will help to ensure that NST is here and thriving for you, your family, and other members of our growing community!

Sponsor a show:

NST is proud to make our home in the historic Blue Hill Town Hall. Over the years, we have put time, thought and resources into improving the upstairs theater space. This space offers an intimate experience of live theater, with, at most, only 100 seats available. However, this limitation on capacity also means there is a limit on how much we can make through ticket sales. Consequently, we rely on sponsors to help us maintain the quality of production our audiences have come to expect and cherish. If you are interested in sponsoring an upcoming show, please email Lori at lori@newsurrytheatre.org for more information about sponsorship opportunities and the many benefits our sponsors receive. Thank you!

Support a scholarship to the Performing Arts School or summer camp:

Every semester of the Performing Arts School and each summer of the camp, NST offers scholarships to ensure that no student is unable to attend our programs due to financial constraints. These scholarships are made possible through grants and generous donations. If you are interested in supporting our scholarship program, please contact Lori at lori@newsurrytheatre.org to find out more about giving the gift of theater to others. Thank you!

What we’ve heard from folks about New Surry Theatre!

“New Surry Theatre has the ability to both entertain and educate an audience of all ages and it is a magic place that showcases an astounding and surprising group of local talent in an extraordinary range of theatrical productions. Best of all it is a community of people who love the theater and support each other... The New Surry is innovative and creative theater... theater at its best!” - Peter Lione

“When I was eleven, I decided to do acting camp with NST on a whim. “Why not?” I thought... After the week of camp, during which I sang the songs from The Music Man at the top of my lungs like that theatre kid that I was, it was time for my first rehearsal... Folded in I was, and Carousel, Anne, Honk, The Browning Version, Fiddler on the Roof, Little Women, and now Fun Home were to follow. NST has become my home, the place where I feel the most safe.” - Magnolia Vandiver

“New Surry Theater has put the ‘community’ in our family’s community theater experience. Despite only being in the area during the summer, our daughters were always welcomed to join the summer musicals. We have volunteered to help with refreshments and receptions, photographed dress rehearsals and supported NST with our time, treasure and talent for over 10 years. NST has served us in important ways too. We are greeted like old friends and welcomed to our summer community each spring... We credit NST for helping both our girls develop into confident young adult women who learned to work with people of all ages and from all walks of life!” - Kathy and Jeff Klofft

“Fun Home was fabulous! When you see the acting you will think that they must have had national auditions – it’s that good!” - Holly Hendricks

“I am such a happy man! Saturday night I went to see the NST’s Fun Home presented “in the round” to a full house of excited theatergoers. What a delight! Actors of all ages singing, dancing and creating characters with such truth that many in the audience left the theater believing that the actors were actually those people that they saw on the stage. Oh, how seeing “good theater” can have you believe anything and this was very, very good theater.” - Bill Raiten (NST Founder & Artistic Director Emeritus)

“What a show it was! We couldn’t stop talking about Fun Home on our way home, and when we got home we sat for a couple of hours and talked about it. It was very moving for both of us.” - Kathleen Noyes

“Loved it [Fun Home]! You did a great job. I felt each actor really understood the full emotional scope of their character and their journey. ‘Ring of Keys’ is practically my theme song and I thought she nailed it. Well done!” - A local playwright
